SEO guide
SEO foundations every portfolio website needs.
A polished portfolio is not automatically a discoverable one. Search visibility depends on pages that answer real intent, technical access and a credible path from result to enquiry.
1. Create a page for each core service
A single homepage can introduce the business, but it rarely answers every service query in enough depth. A Meta Ads page and an SEO service page should each explain the problem, scope, process, evidence and next action.
Important: the pages need unique value. Changing only the heading while repeating the same copy does not create a useful search result.
2. Give every page one clear title and description
The title should identify the service and brand. The meta description should explain who the page helps and why someone should click. Keep exactly one meta description in the rendered page.
- Use one descriptive H1.
- Write a unique title and description.
- Set a self-referencing canonical URL.
- Keep the page indexable unless there is a clear reason not to.
3. Make crawling and indexing verifiable
Robots.txt should not block important pages. The XML sitemap should contain the canonical URLs that deserve indexing. Search Console then confirms whether Google discovered, crawled and indexed them.
4. Publish evidence, not empty portfolio sections
Case studies should explain the starting point, the decisions made and the result that can be supported. If a metric is confidential or not verified, say so. Transparent evidence builds more trust than an unsupported success claim.
5. Use descriptive internal links
Links such as “Meta Ads strategy services” help users and search engines understand the destination better than repeated “Learn more” links. Connect blog posts to the most relevant service and case-study pages.
6. Remove friction from contact
Search traffic only creates business value when the visitor can act. A clear contact form, email fallback, phone link and visible project CTA give international visitors more than one reliable option.
Practical checklist
- One indexable URL per core service
- One title, one description and one H1 per page
- Canonical, sitemap and robots directives aligned
- Optimized images with dimensions and lazy loading
- Evidence-based case studies
- Descriptive internal links
- A working conversion path
